Yellow Cheers

 

Ashley Hammond, the peppy cheerleader from Angel Grove High, started out as the captain of the cheerleader squad, during which Tanya was the Yellow Turbo Ranger.  Ashley met Carlos, the captain of the soccer team, who helped Adam fight Pirahnatron and offered to walk Ashley home.  The two of them had an obvious connection, and when Divatox captured Tommy and sent the Flamite monster to destroy the city, Ashley and Carlos helped the rangers to get the citizens to safety.  Along with T.J. and Cassie, who helped Kat fight Pirahnatron who had ambushed her and Tommy, the four of them became the new team of Turbo Rangers, along with Justin, who remained the Blue Turbo Ranger.  After Divatox attacked the Power Chamber, Justin remained behind, while Ashley and the other three rangers blasted off into space in a NASADA space shuttle to follow her.  While in space, the rangers docked with the Astro Megaship, and Andros, the Red Astro Ranger, saw that they were worthy and let them join his quest to find Zordon by giving them the Astro Ranger Morphers, thus transforming Ashley into the Yellow Astro Ranger.  Andros grew a crush on Ashley, and of course, the feeling became mutual.  Zhane, Andros’ friend, the Silver Ranger, came into the picture and impressed everyone, including Ashley, and this made Andros jealous.  He realized, of course, that Zhane knew he liked Ashley, and both Zhane and Ashley would never jeopardize that.  When the world was coming to an end, Andros left to try to stop his sister, and he promised Ashley that he would see her again.  He returned, but while he was to stay on KO-35, the others were to return to Earth.  At the last minute, Andros returned to the Megaship and told DECA to set a course for Earth.  Ashley’s last appearance was during Lost Galaxy, in which the Psychos returned and were ordered by Trakeena to destroy the rangers, and the Astro rangers went to Terra Venture to help the Galaxy Rangers fight.
